Benefits of Castile Soap

  1. Natural Ingredients: Castile soap is typically made from olive oil, which is gentle on the skin and environmentally friendly.

  9. Baby Wash: A mild and safe option for baby's delicate skin, Castile soap unscented is a great alternative for use as a baby wash

  10. Pet Shampoo: Dilute Castile soap with water for a gentle pet shampoo that won't irritate your furry baby’s skin.

  11. Fruit and Vegetable Wash: My favorite way to clean my produce is by mixing Castile soap with water in a bowl and soaking fruits and vegetables before rinsing. Here my favorite for veggie wash.

  12. Insect Repellent: Mix Castile soap with water and essential oils to create a natural insect-repellent

  13. Brushing Teeth

  14. Makeup Brush Cleaner

  15. Shaving Cream

  16. Jewelry Cleaner

  17. Car Was

  18. Toilet Cleane

  19. Floor Cleaner

  20. Window Cleaner

But bear in mind that Castile soap requires proper use to work effectively. Contrary to popular belief, Castile soaps are not effective if combined with the following:

Epsom Salt- Mixing Castile soap with Epsom salt is not advised due to the chemical reaction that occurs between the two. Epsom salt is known as magnesium sulfate, a crystalline substance that is often used in bath salt and body products for its benefits, such as muscle relaxation or skin exfoliation. When combined with a true soap such as Castile soap, it can form a semi-solid chemical substance commonly referred to as magnesium cocoate, aka soap scum. Now imagine a batch of that going down the drain.

Vinegar- In a nutshell, vinegar is an acid, and the Castile Soap is a base. So, thinking back to chem class, what does that mean? They automatically cancel each other out. Rather than getting the best of both worlds, the cutting power of vinegar and the cleaning power of soap, you'll actually end up with a whole new kind of problem. The vinegar essentially "unsaponifies" the soap, turning it back into its original oils. The result? Curdled clumps of whitish oils. The exact opposite of what we are trying to achieve while doing laundry or cleaning the kitchen.
